Group Chief Actuarial Officer

Jim joined DARAG in April 2015 as Group Actuary. He started out in the broking market. Having then decided to train to be an actuary he joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) in London where he focused on General Insurance loss reserving topics and in particular in the growing run-off market. During this period he was seconded to Lloyd’s of London for 15 months in the run-up to the founding of Equitas.

In 1999 he moved to KPMG’s Cologne office to set up the entity’s first non-life actuarial practice with particular focus on USGAAP reporting for major local and overseas Groups operating in Germany. In more recent years and prior to joining DARAG, focus switched to the run-up to Solvency II with impact studies and auditing of internal models.

Jim has more than 35 years of industry expertise in both direct insurance and reinsurance and is key to the core business of DARAG.
